Re-direct the worry!

Getting stuck in a never-ending anxiety spiral hurts! One passing thought can trigger it and before you know it you are drowning in it and you can’t find your way back out. Best tips for those time?…..RE-DIRECT! re-direct your brain! distract it to give it and you a breather out of the ruminating…in the following ways:

  • Balance! – hop on one leg or simply balance on one leg…you can’t worry when you are avoiding a faceplant.
  • Name 3 things! – name 3 sounds you can hear, 3 colours you can see, 3 items in your line of vision.
  • Breathe! – Take a deep belly breath! pause then a slow controlled exhale..then another! and another!
  • Sing! – start mentally or vocally reciting a song you know, whichever comes to your mind first, (inch wincey spider….old macdonald had a farm…will do)
  • Step back! – you are not your thoughts. you/your DIVINE SOUL is the observer, not the chatter in your monkey mind. take a birds eye view of your thoughts as if they were ants on the ground, or passing cars.

Eliminating and curing anxiety happens one habit, one thought, one moment at a time. You will catch your anxiety sooner and sooner the more you practice and you will get better <3
